This is the first year we have added a "Walker" category, which gives those that sign up to walk the Half Marathon the option to start in Ouray at 6:30am. Note that those that signed up as walkers will not have an official time and not be eligible for awards.
The 13.1 mile Half-Marathon course begins at the Ouray Hot Springs Park, north of town in Ouray, Colorado. The race winds through the city of Ouray and then goes north on County Road 17 to County Road 23 along the Uncompahgre River Valley and into the town of Ridgway.
The Full Marathon starts in Ridgway, goes to Ouray on the same course, and returns to Ridgway. The elevation of Ouray is 7700 ft. and the elevation of Ridgway is 7000 ft. This course is primarily on a dirt county road. It's a beautiful route. UST&F certified course.
At 11:00 a.m., there is a 1-mile Kids Fun Run. $10 registration fee, includes snack & short sleeve t-shirt.

Benefits and other Goodies The entry fee includes snacks at the finish line, half price admission to the Ouray Hot Springs Pool and an official race t-shirt. Fees go directly to Mt Sneffels Education Foundation, a non profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives and educational experiences of the youth in Ouray County. Throughout the morning (starting from approximately 10:30am), bus transportation will be provided from Solar Ranches park (Ridgway) back to Ouray Hot Springs/Fellin Park. |
